Haman County Mayor Cho Geun-je Attends Completion Ceremony of Oksan IMT Co., Ltd.

Haman County announced on the 4th that Mayor Cho Geun-je attended the completion ceremony of Oksan IMT Co., Ltd., a technology-innovative SME based in Haman. On the day, the mayor congratulated CEO Cho Dong-won and plant officials on the completion of the factory and commended their efforts.

Founded in 1995, Oksan IMT Co., Ltd. specializes in the production of industrial machinery and operates its headquarters and two manufacturing plants in Gaya-eup, Haman. The company has expanded its business into factory automation equipment and secondary battery equipment. With growing domestic demand and increasing exports driven by the establishment of subsidiaries in Vietnam and Hungary, the company signed an investment agreement with Haman County on January 16 to expand its factory, culminating in this completion ceremony.

Oksan IMT invested KRW 3.9 billion in the expansion, establishing a state-of-the-art facility and creating 28 new jobs. The company expects this to serve as a major stepping stone for further growth.

In addition, the company is recognized as a technology-innovative and outstanding SME, exporting factory automation and secondary battery equipment to major domestic and global corporations such as Samsung, Hyundai, Doosan, SK, and Japan’s Hirata. It received the $20 Million Export Tower Award in 2022 and was designated as a technology-innovative SME by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups in 2021.

During the expansion process, the company faced challenges due to insufficient factory site area and made several visits to the county office to address these issues. In response, the county actively reviewed the matter and enabled the expansion by designating the area as an “Industrial Growth Management Zone,” leading to the successful completion of the project.

On the same day, Oksan IMT also donated KRW 20 million to the Haman County Scholarship Foundation to support local talent development.

CEO Cho Dong-won stated, “With the support of Haman County, we were able to complete our long-awaited factory expansion and establish new facilities,” adding, “We will continue striving to contribute to the local economy and job creation.”

Mayor Cho Geun-je remarked, “We will continue to provide full administrative and financial support to resolve difficulties faced by companies and create a business-friendly environment.”
